NO CAMERAS ALLOWED (2014)

Licensed to MTV (Viacom)

Two college Film students, armed with borrowed cameras and a dream to get up close and personal to the music we loved, hatched a plan to make a movie about never being invited, but always being asked to stay

THE STORY

When Marcus came to me with a short he made of him sneaking into Coachella, the beginnings of an idea for a feature started to form. I said I’d partner with him and produce, but you have to be the focal point. He agreed and we began the 3 year journey to make our first feature documentary. It was our last year in college and we had little in the way of money, so we borrowed some camera gear and scraped enough cash together for the plane tickets. Getting in and up close and personal was up to Marcus once he got to the festival grounds each time.

No Cameras Allowed takes you on a first-person POV, behind the scenes and down the rabbit hole into Coachella, Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, Ultra and other festivals as Marcus finesses his way into the photo pit, backstage, and onstage with some of the biggest music acts alive, including Jay Z, Coldplay, Skrillex, and Mumford & Sons.  When his footage ends up in the hands of Mumford & Sons, the band invites Marcus to go on the Railroad Revival Tour with them, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes and Old Crowe Medicine Show.  However, his dream of going on tour with Mumford & Sons comes at the risk of failing out of college, losing his then-girlfriend, and trading in stability for a chance at his life-long dream.  No Cameras Allowed is an intimate, honest, behind-the-scenes look at world-renowned artists from the perspective of someone who was never really invited but was always asked to stay.

No Cameras Allowed was completed by partnering with Fake Empire and was then licensed to Viacom/MTV in 2014.
